„40 TAGE LEBEN/ARBEITEN/FASTEN“ – 40 days of living and fasting
In the church St. Andrä in Graz, from Ash Wednesday to Good Friday, he spent 40 days of fasting there and, as if living his personal groundhog day, producing a daily drawing.
Now we are back at the point of departure – we have a nebulous conscience of the existence of a language of action; it is not the work that alters reality but the one who consumes it.
Are there any elements that are significant or insignificant? Is there a dictionary or code of action? Is history a long discourse of man transforming actions of his surroundings, the world? And in which way is every one of us integrated in this discourse, i.e. how do we integrate into history and to which extent do we transform the world with our acts? How much can a man give up and still remain himself?
